Piano Lessons From your Home
Video piano lessons are the ideal solution for students whose schedule or location would not otherwise allow for lessons with an experienced professional. They also are extremely convenient because they allow you to have your lesson whenever you like, and review my responses as many times as you like while you practice!

How do video piano lessons work?
The idea behind video lessons is simple. You send me a short video of yourself playing assigned material or things you have questions about. I then respond with three things:
- A video response where I talk and demonstrate from the piano
- Notes on my video response of key points
- Suggestions for further work or assignments for future lessons (if you are taking regular lessons)
The length of my video response can vary, but is usually 10-20 minutes. While this in itself is shorter than a regular lesson, keep in mind that I am also listening to your video, covering each point and creating notes, all of which can be reviewed as much as you like at home.
EXAMPLE VIDEOS ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE!
Who can take video lessons?
Any adult in any location can study through video lessons. You can be a complete beginner or an advanced student.
Are there disadvantages?
The main disadvantage of video lessons is that I'm not there to correct problems in real-time. However, in truth, since most of the work done at the piano is outside of lessons where a teacher is not present, this turns out to be less of a problem than you might think. There is also a huge advantage to being able to review my response as many times as you like which is not available in traditional lessons! Not to mention the convenience of being able to "take your lesson" whenever and wherever you feel comfortable.
What does it cost?
The cost of video lessons is actually cheaper than what I charge in my private practice! You can either purchase single lessons for $50 each, or sign up for regular weekly lessons at a cost of $45 each (paid for for by the month in advance.)
What equipment I need?
I'm very flexible about the manner in which these lessons are conducted, depending on each person's technological capabilities and know-how. All you really need is some way to record yourself at the piano, preferably a way that will allow you to e-mail me a video file. (Although this is possible through snail-mail as well!)
How can I learn more or get started?
I'm very flexible about the manner in which these lessons are conducted, depending on each person's technological capabilities and know-how. If you're interested or have questions I would love to hear from you! Just e-mail me to get started or to learn more!
Example Videos
Both of these videos are clips from more extended lessons I gave to intermediate/late intermediate adult students. Don't worry if you are a complete beginner, the material will be presented in an easy to understand way which caters to your individual needs. Also, you can read my student reviews here.
In this clip I discuss phrasing with a more advanced student who is working on a Beethoven Sonata
Here I discuss hand position in a Schumann piece. Note the different camera angle used when discussing technique. One great advantage of video lessons is that they allow this student to review the video many times and compare his hand positions to the ones I am demonstrating.
